Thinking and Thanking "Big"

Scott Walton recently attended a meeting of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization of Oklahoma and met a phenomenal individual, Tim Morris.  Tim is a Tulsa Firefighter and a resident of Claremore and was named the Big Brother of the Year for 2007.

Tim was matched with his little brother, Alex, more than five-years ago and the two have formed a life-long friendship.  Tim has made a big impact on Alex's life and has enjoyed watching his little brother grow.

Together, they ride Tim's motorcycle, walk dogs, fish, watch movies and sometimes just hang out.

“…I was looking to make a difference in a young person’s life, much like my father did for me," Tim said of his decision to become a Big Brother.

Even though Alex says that the day will come when he becomes too old for the Big Brothers program, he says he will never become too old to hang out with his best friend, Tim.

Although this is not related to the Scott Walton for Sheriff campaign, Scott wanted to take notice of Tim and congratulate him for being the Big Brother of 2007 and thank him for being an exceptional citizen of Rogers County.

"I've always been impressed with the genuine good nature of Rogers County people and Tim is a great example of what Rogers County is all about," said Walton.
