Walton Lands Newspaper Endorsements
It's an exciting last week for the Scott Walton
campaign. With less than a week to go until Election Day,
Scott Walton has landed the endorsements of three newspapers in
Rogers County.
The three papers are The Owasso Reporter,
The Oologah Lake Leader and, The Catoosa Times.
"I'm extremely grateful to have their support
and endorsements," said Walton.
Walton's campaign and platform were compared to
his opponent's and the news writers opted to back Walton's bid in
each instance.
The Owasso Reporter concentrated on
Walton's ability to strengthen and lead the department through the
rapid growth of Rogers County.
The Catoosa Times wrote that "Walton
understands the critical issues of staffing and response times which
need to be addressed in the department."
The Oologah Lake Leader wrote that
Walton is a "tough," "fair-minded" and, "a people-oriented leader -
exactly what we need in a sheriff."
The Lake Leader emphasized that Walton's
"ability to work well with others will be vital in resolving one of
the county's major problems" and explained that problem as the need
for a unified communications center capable of handling all public
safety communications from a centralized point.
Walton also recently received the endorsements
of groups such as the Owasso Firefighters Union, the Tulsa
Firefighters, the labor council's support.
"I've been really blessed to be supported by so
many good people who really care about Rogers County," Walton said.
"I'm going to work everyday to live up to their expectations."
Walton also enjoys the support and endorsements
of the Claremore Fraternal Order of Police, the Owasso Fraternal
Order of Police, and public safety professionals throughout Rogers
County.
