Tulsa Firefighters
In a letter sent to Walton, President Bill French writes that the membership of the firefighter's union supported Walton's run for sheriff and added that Walton's continued support of the Professional Fire Fighters for Oklahoma went into their decision. "Because of your belief in the rights of the working men and women in Oklahoma and your continued support of the Professional Fire Fighters for Oklahoma, the members of the Tulsa Firefighters Local 176 voted to endorse you in your campaign for election as Rogers County Sheriff."
"This is a great endorsement," said Walton. "These guys know a little something about working under pressure and having to get a tough job done with what you've got; it's especially meaningful to get approval from a group of people who understand what that means." The Tulsa Firefighters union is the most recent fire union endorsement for Walton. Just two weeks ago Walton secured the endorsement of the Owasso Firefighters Union and had previously been given the endorsement by the Owasso Fraternal Order of Police as well. "When you're endorsed by the men and women who do the tough jobs, who hold the front line, and who dedicate their lives to the safety and protection of the public, it means the world. These people are the real deal and the ones who know best what it takes to get the job done," Walton said.
