Representative Ben Sherrer
Oklahoma
Representative Ben Sherrer has endorsed Scott Walton for Rogers
County Sheriff.
Sherrer, who serves as the Representative for House District 8, says
that Walton's approach to the position is “responsible with the
people's money and forward looking.”
Representative Sherrer's District includes Rogers, Wagoner and Mayes
Counties. He is on several House Committees including the Energy and
Technology Committee and the Judicial and Public Safety Committee.
Sherrer also holds a House Leadership role as the Deputy Democratic
Floor Leader.
“I admire Scott and I wholeheartedly believe that he will make a
great sheriff for Rogers County,” Sherrer said. “Scott has earned a
tremendous amount of experience through his 27-years of serving the
public as a police officer and I think we're lucky to have the
opportunity to elect someone like Scott into office.”
Representative Sherrer graduated from Inola High School's Class of
1986 and went on to attend at Oklahoma State University, earning a
Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Administration. Sherrer earned a
second Bachelor's Degree in Marketing before going on to earn a
Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University.
While attending college at night, Sherrer worked in the daytime.
First, Sherrer worked for the State Auditor and Inspector's Office
and then later by the Oklahoma County District Court where Sherrer
served as a bailiff.
After earning his law degree, Sherrer returned to Northeastern
Oklahoma where he established his own law practice. Today Sherrer
serves as the Assistant City Attorney for the town of Pryor Creek
and is the Town Attorney for the City of Chouteau. Sherrer also
serves as the city prosecutor for both municipalities.
Sherrer was elected into the Oklahoma House of Representatives in
2004 and is currently serving his second term.
“Serving the public successfully requires a special kind of person
and I know Scott Walton to be the kind of person who holds the
character and leadership, vision and integrity to serve the public
well. I look forward to working with Scott once he's elected,” said
Sherrer.
Sherrer said he invites the people of Rogers
County join him and his family in their support of Walton and hopes
the people cast their vote for Scott Walton for Rogers County
Sheriff on November 4th.
