New R.C.S.O. Web Site Coming
Soon A new Rogers
County Sheriff's Office web site is coming soon, said Sheriff Scott
Walton. The Rogers County Sheriff's Office has maintained a web site
in the past but had not been updated since the middle of 2008.
Sheriff Walton says he wants a
web page that can serve as an access point for the public. "I
want the citizens of Rogers County to be able to see what is
happening at the Sheriff's Office. I want a web page that
stays up-to-date and is useful to both the citizens and law
enforcement." The web
page will have an entirely new look and feel but will continue with
popular features that have been used by the public including links
to sex offender data bases and a portal for the county jail.
The old website, which was
taken down in early January, is being reconstructed to make visits
more user friendly and easier to understand.
The web site will also feature
current news and information about the Sheriff's Department
including events related to area law enforcement.
The sex offender data bases and
the county jail inmate information are both features which are "off
site." Users who use those features are redirected to the
sites which host the information. The Oklahoma sex offender
data bases are hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and
the national data base is hosted by United States Justice
Department's National Sex Offender Public Website which is a
collaboration of sex offender listings compiled by the federal
government from state registries.
The county jail inmate
information is hosted by the B.O.S.S. Jail Management System which
is hosted by Justice Software Solutions Inc. The feature
offers a current roster of inmates in the Rogers County Jail and
lists the inmate's name, charge(s), arresting agency and photograph.
